Evaluation of the biological activity of the extracts from Acer negundo and Robinia pseudoacacia leaves on germinating seeds of test cultures

Ash-leaved maple and black locust belong to the most actively spreading woody invasive species in flora of Belarus. In process control these plants by mechanical destruction, a potential use their phytomass as mulch gardening is considered. For such usage, negative allelopathic effect on other should be assessed. paper effects complex unidentified biologically active substances from Acer negundo Robinia pseudoacacia are studied. This achieved method biotesting: seeds Lepidium sativum, Raphanus sativus, Daucus carota were incubated vitro with water extracts green leaves pseudoacacia, grounded into powder before extraction. The percent germinated seeds, length main root, hypocotylus recorded. experimental concentrations for 5, 10, 50, 100 g/l; distilled was control. Two variants tested: leaves, dried sun, exposed rain, but sun exposing. results show that A. has higher (phytotoxic) activity, than R. pseudoacacia. particular, extract (100 g/l) completely suppressed seed germination all three test plants, whereas had statistically neutral (slightly decreased seeds) radish carrot.
